The Bright Conference of the year 2008 will be hosted by the University of Helsinki.
One aim of the Bright conference is to provide students from different universities a platform for open dialogue regarding major European issues. University of Helsinki provides an ideal platform as its Student Union has had an active role in the university, city and society by highlighting themes important to students throughout its 140 years of history. Now the Student Union is enthusiastic to organize the Bright Conference and raise current issues into the debate.
The theme of the conference is “Europe as a Knowledge Society”. The idea of knowledge society will be examined through different sub themes. Universities, students and civic society are important players in a knowledge society. To keep Europe on track we need creativity and innovations. The focus of discussion in the conference will be in how universities and students create innovations.
